Hi everyone! Hope your Thursdays are going well. Here's the start of chapter 2...December's got some fancy new threads, eh? I used this chapter to work really hard on my architecture and perspective, hopefully that'll become apparent as it goes on.
Also, you may have noticed: borders! Borders that are not black. I hope you like them. They should make the colors in the pages sing a little more. (black is notorious for eating color!)
The vote incentive! I call this one "more-inane-details-to-torment-myself-with", otherwise known as swords! Very specific swords.
I find props- especially swords which were considered prized personal possessions in the middle ages- to be almost as important as characters in making a story in which a time and place need to be conveyed. It's one thing to have a character holding a sword, it's another to make that sword say something about that character.
So I have a lot of these kinds of sketches, where I just work out inane little details. I'm pretty sure I've got a page of nothing but belt buckles around here somewhere.
It's like I'm my own Weta Workshop! Haahh....
Heh, that's all for today. See you all Tuesday for the next page!
